Sonny Melendrez was born to inspire.
Raised in Texas, Melendrez began his career as a broadcaster and media professional in San Antonio, before moving to Hollywood where he created and hosted an impressive number of radio and television shows.
Melendrez has been behind the microphone and served as Director of Programming for some of America’s great radio stations, including KIIS Radio in Los Angeles. He was recently inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and is included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as one the Top 100 Radio Personalities of All-Time.
As a humanitarian, Melendrez has raised over 100 million dollars in cash, goods, and services for a myriad of charities during the last 30 years and received a Grammy Nomination for creating the children’s version of “We Are The World,” benefiting USA For Africa. He was commended by President and Mrs. Reagan for his efforts in fighting the War On Drugs, received the US Department of Justice – Modern Hero Award, and the City of San Antonio named the Sonny Melendrez Community Center as a way of recognizing his ongoing involvement with disadvantaged youth.
